The 10 Avatars of Vishnu


1 ) Matsya (the fish) Avatar: Fish that rescues Veda, plants and animals. One of the ten avatars of Vishnu that appeared in the Satya Yuga


2) Koorma (the tortoise) Avatar: Tortoise that supports the churn of the ocean to obtain treasures dissolved in the ocean of milk.



3) Varaha (the boar) Avatar: Boar that raise the earth from the bottom of the sea.



4) Narasimha (the man-lion) Avatar: Narasimha (the man-lion): Man-lion who defies classification and overpowers mortals who seek to outwit death.

5) Vamana (the dwarf) Avatar: Dwarf who claims the sky from the gods and buries the demons in the underbelly of the earth


6) The Parasurama Avatar:  Priest who turns to violence to kill unrighteous kings and unchaste women

7) The Rama Avatar: King who uploads old rules at the cost of personal life. 



8) The Krishna Avatar: Cowherd/charioteer/stateman who shrewdly changes rules

9) The Balarama Avatar : One of the ten avatars of Vishnu that appeared in the Dwapara Yuga. In many versions of the mythology, the ninth incarnation is often mentioned as Lord Buddha.

10) The Kalki Avatar ( meaning “eternity” / the mighty warrior) The last incarnation of Vishnu who is expected to appear at the end of Kali Yuga, the time period in which we currently exist, to rid the world of the oppression of its unrighteous rulers.
